Large ceramic dish with geometric decoration, stamped "la granges aux potiers" and marked "pièce unique".
René and Madeleine de Valence had been ceramists in Isère since the 1940s - in Beaurepaire, then in Saint-Barthélemy in 1944 - and after 1958 in the Drôme - in Gervans. After René's accidental death in 1963, Madeleine continued their work together for twenty years.
